I'm Tom
FC1(SW) Thomas Kester, USN, Ret
I was bourn in Indiana where I spent the first 23 years of my life
I joined the U.S. Navy and spent 20 years in it traveling all over the world
After retiring from the Navy, we moved to Montana, and I really didn't know what I wanted to do, so I just worked a couple different jobs
In 2013 I decided I had to do something else with my life, So I went back to school where I received my Associate of Science degree in Information Technology.
I recently finished my education and I now have my Cyber Security Certification
I'm am currently employed by Education Logistics Inc as a Implementation Specialist
We now have our granddaughter living with us. We are both very happy about this
Time in the Navy
I started off as a non designated seaman and worked my way up to a boatswain mate second class (a jack of all trades and master of none)
During this time I spent time at a few different commands, USS Odgen, Sand Point Naval Station, Everett Naval Station, and the USS Essex
After that I went back to another navy school and cross rated to fire controlman (I did not fight fires, I caused them) and while in school I became a first class
After this I went back to other command, such as the USS Oldendorf, Regional Support Organization San Diego, USS Normandy, and finished off at Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity Norfolk
From there I retired after 20 years of service
There is a few different hobbies I enjoy doing, here is just a few
I do very much believe in the second amendment. And with that, I enjoy going out shooting and yes, I do own more then one gun. Sometimes I will take one of my pistols or one of my rifles out shooting
And another thing I enjoy doing it playing on computers, yes you can classify me as a nerd. I owned my first computer back in 1977 that was a TRS-80 Level 1 4k computer, that I upgraded to 16k of RAM. That was a milestone back then. This is the main reason I got into both electronics and computers.
